So I stumbled on a post by someone saying:

I wish I knew what was in stored for me. I wish I had some security that everything I’m doing now is going to pay off later.

And I just thought ‘dude, how relevant.’ I’m sure that’s nothing new or surprising but I seriously had to share … I was playing Life earlier today and gosh, I just had the worst luck. I got so discouraged even though it was just a game. I had to fork over so much money and take up bank loans and change jobs, getting more and more unsatisfied every time. Does money have that much of a hold on me? I hate to think that it does. I hate the idea of materialism and spoilage. I really do, even though it happens time after time, even with me … So does money buy happiness? In English class, I said in a class discussion how the raw truth of it, is that it does. It sucks. Society has such twisted values that money has so much influence on life. I don’t think it was meant to be this way. Wayyyy back in the day, what was money? Like seriously, it didn’t exist. And now? I feel like for some people it could make or break their existence. Let’s be honest, if someone were to ask you what the most important thing in life was, money might pop up in your mind but seldom any body has the guts to say it up front. And hey, imma give ya’ll the benefit of the doubt, and also say, not everyone is materialistic or cares about money. But you can’t deny it is such a big factor in our lives today. It gives people reason and motivation to do some of the things they do today. Like eat healthier? Like go to college (sorry, nothing against school, but really, that’s what a higher education is all about right?) Most college students go into the majors that they do because they have a specific career choice in mind: in the end it boils down to, what’s gonna make me happy in life? or what’s gonna make me the most money? right? (this is totally debate-able, but it’s true to an extent no?) Sometimes people have no intention of doing what they do for the money from that start, but money can be an incentive and gradually turn into our ‘goal(s).’ There is so much corruption out there in high places it’s not even funny. So is money controlling us? Indirectly, hell yeah. Can we do something about it? Hell yeah. Will we? I don’t know. But back to what the person said, pay off? I’m sure you can make that happen in more ways than one … But we all have our morals and limits. We all have to make choices that challenge them as well. So what would you do: abandon them or stay by them? I can’t say, and neither can you. Because it’s been proven time and time again that actions speak louder than words. No one can predict the future. Why would you even want to know? Curiosity kills the cat, ya heard? The future is constantly changing based on the present- and the end result is up to you. You are who you are today because of what you have done yesterday. I believe that you can go anywhere (however far) you want to go. But you gotta work for it, it won’t just be handed to you. That’s life. Go live it. I mean, it’s okay to be insecure and worried about your future- you’re human. But don’t live dwelling on the future. Don’t live in fear. Because if you do, I doubt you’ll get very far.

types of love are really sad
but it happens & sometimes you can’t do anything but keeping dreaming and hoping that one day they finally turn around and let you know that you should (have been) in their future after all
